Julie - North Pine Miniature Schnauzers

I was born into a family of dog and horse lovers. I grew up in Minnesota and we raised and showed Morgan horses. My mother was also very active in dog obedience and miniature schnauzers became her breed of choice, thus was born Ironstone Miniature Schnauzers. Horse showing took over the weekends and she no longer had the time to show dogs. However, she continued, occasionally to breed her females to champion males and has consistently produced top quality miniature schnauzers.

I truly enjoy researching the breed and the art of grooming. In time, these interests led me to start, North Pine Miniature Schnauzers. Building on my mother’s line. I began raising and showing, which was very exciting for me. In the early 1980’s I produced my first top-ranking female, CH. North Pine Echo, who was later sold to Peggy Blakely and was shown as a Special’s bitch. Echo eventually became a foundation bitch for Peggy’s B-Major Kennel in California. Eventually I moved from Minnesota to Arizona where North Pine Miniature Schnauzers has continued breeding and showing quality dogs. Our exceptional black and silver line, founded by American and Intern’l CH. North Pine Stay In Arizona, and North Pine Midnight Maiden, produced us 3 American Champions and One CD Champion all in less than a year and half.

My daughter, Corey Marx, just like her mother and her grandmother loves the breed and in 1993 a third generation began, Wedgewood Miniature Schnauzers,. Corey carries on the family tradition in Minnesota and has been raising and showing champions of her own. All or our lines are intertwined now and we consistently breed quality show dogs and family pets. We have both a Salt & Pepper and a Black & Silver line . With careful and selective breeding we have been able to produce a Black & Silver that has a true, very black color.
