If you are viewing this page, you either already have or you may be thinking about adding a miniature schnauzer to your family. The reason for our website is to share our love and passion for the breed dubbed by many as “THE DOG WITH THE HUMAN BRAIN”. The thing we love most about the miniature schnauzer is that it is a big dog in a small package that wants to please. The miniature schnauzer is a very devoted companion, who loves to snuggle in your lap, chase a ball, go hiking, guard the home and play with the kids. We hope you enjoy our pictures and what we are about. Please, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Hope you enjoy our site,
Julie & Carol

HELPFUL TIPS WHILE LOOKING FOR A YOUR NEW PUPPY

North Pine and Monarch Miniature Schnauzers are not commercial breeders. We breed for the sole purpose of improving the breed according to the code of ethics mentioned in our clubs and in hopes of our next champion. We look for certain traits that only a trained eye would be able to see that makes the decision of which puppies we keep to show. Puppies that do not meet that standard are placed in loving homes as pets. The same quality goes into breeding the puppies for show as those that go into a non-show home as a faithful companion. We want a happy , out-going, curious and confident puppy that is both healthy and beautiful. One you are proud to own and love. We work hard on research and study of the various bloodlines with which to breed to achieve these goals.
Foremost in our breeding program is health and temperament. We ourselves want a dog that we can live with in our home. One that loves to greet people at the door; climb in anyone’s lap; is gentle enough to go to the nursing homes but will romp with our grandchildren.

HELPFUL TIPS WHILE LOOKING FOR A YOUR NEW PUPPY
The miniature schnauzer is a true “companion” dog and likes to be with people all the time. Because they were bred to control vermin, the instinct to chase anything that moves quickly is very strong and they should never be outside without being confined or on a leash. These are sturdy little dogs that get along well with children if they are raised with them.

Think about your lifestyle. Will there be long hours at work? Are you retired? Are there small children or grandchildren arround? Do I have a fenced yard? Are there other pets in the home? Some of these questions can help you decide if a new puppy is the best choice for you. You may find that maybe an older puppy, a young dog or even an older dog would better suit your lifestyle. Occasionally a show prospect puppy, for various reasons, does not make it into the show ring and is available for adoption. Some of the older dogs may also be looking for new homes.

Always visit the breeder’s home, never meet the person somewhere, it is important to see and spend time with the dam of the puppies and if possible, the sire, if available. Remember, the puppy is going to most likely look and act like the parents. If you are not happy with what your see in the parents, you’re likely to be unhappy with the puppy as it matures. Keep looking for the right one for you. Always purchase from a breeder that belongs to a miniature schnauzer breed club. This does not always assure you of a healthy, great disposition puppy, but at least the breeders are going by a code of ethics set by their club and are watched somewhat by their peers. There is some accountability on their part.

Choosing a quality breeder is very important.
He or she is someone who has invested the time and money necessary to make his or her dogs into champions. A good breeder will have researched the various health and temperament issues out there and breed to avoid or minimize them. This shows you that the breeder is more interested in the hobby and the welfare of the dog, than making money from the breeding of pet puppies.
